Sebastien McKenna

Managing Director - Head of Debt Advisory, Sydney

Sebastien is the founding Managing Director of Gresham Debt Solutions and Head of Debt Advisory.

Sebastien joined Gresham in 2016 from Grant Samuel where he was a Director and key member of the Capital Advisory team based in Sydney.  Sebastien played a significant role in an extensive number of capital advisory engagements for clients such as Caltex Australia, Iluka Resources, Qube Holdings, Leighton Holdings, Mainfreight, Whitehaven Coal, Telstra, APN News & Media, Fairfax, G8 Education, Navitas, WEL Networks, Ausdrill, Cardno, The University of Sydney, Nufarm, and the restructuring of Emeco and Slater + Gordon.

Prior to joining Grant Samuel, Sebastien worked for 8 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he was a Vice-President in the Institutional Banking and Markets division.

Sebastien has arranging and advisory experience on transactions with a cumulative value of more than $50 billion.  He has experience in domestic and international funding markets having advised companies on, and arranged capital in: the bank market in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom; capital markets including the AMTN, EMTN, Retail Note (senior and subordinated), Convertible Note, hybrid, US 144A, Reg.S, and US Term Loan; and structured funding markets including project and asset finance.

Sebastien holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Sydney, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, and is an Associate member of CPA Australia.

Campbell Webster

Executive Director, Sydney

Campbell joined Gresham Partners in 2017 as an Executive Director in the Gresham Debt Solutions team in Sydney.

Campbell has over 13 years’ banking and advisory experience in the project finance sector, working across a broad range of sectors, including availability infrastructure, economic infrastructure, transport, utilities, resources and oil & gas sectors.

Recent notable transactions Campbell has worked on include ANU – supported InfraRed on its bid for the student accommodation portfolio ($500m);  Port of Melbourne – supported IFM’s bid for the asset ($9bn); WA Schools PPP – lead arranger supporting Aberdeen ($200m); Puhoi to Warkworth (NZ) PPP – supported John Laing and InfraRed in their bid ($1bn);  Perth Stadium PPP – MLA to the largest PPP undertaken in WA ($1bn); Queensland Motorways Limited – MLAU to Transurban acquisition ($7bn); NSW Ports – MLA in acquisition of Port Botany/Kembla ($5bn); NT Airports – MLA to Darwin and Alice Springs Airports debt facilities ($580m); Sydney Light Rail PPP – participation and secondary purchase ($2bn); Clem 7 Tunnel – MLA to QIC in acquisition of CCT from receiver ($600m); Northern Territory Secure Facilities PPP – MLA to the new correctional centre in Darwin ($650m); The new Royal Adelaide Hospital PPP – MLA to the largest hospital in Australia in ($3bn); Victorian Desalination Plant PPP – MLAU to the largest fully funded PPP completed ($6bn); Asciano - restructure and refinance out of Toll Holdings ($5bn).

Prior to joining Gresham, Campbell spent the last 10 years with National Australia Bank in the Infrastructure and Project Finance team, similarly at Lloyds/HBOS and in the Project Finance Advisory team at ABN AMRO. Prior to that, Campbell entered a cadetship program within Financial Services at KPMG.

Campbell holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of New South Wales, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a Chartered Accountant.

Michail Lagogiannis

Executive Director, Melbourne

Michail joined Gresham in 2005 and is an Executive Director of Gresham’s corporate advisory business.

Michail advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and restructuring transactions across a wide range of industries. Assignments have included agreed and hostile takeovers, private treaty acquisitions and disposals, equity and debt capital raisings and corporate restructures.

Michail has advised on some of Australia’s largest forestry transactions; the sale of Forest Enterprises Australia on behalf of its Receivers and banking group, The Campbell Group’s $670m acquisition of the South Australian Government’s forestry plantations and the $415m sale of the Great Southern forestry estate on behalf of its Receivers and banking group.  Other notable assignments include the sale of Nexus Energy Limited to Seven Group Holdings Limited, various advisory assignments for Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the Sale of Boral’s windows business, advice to Rural Funds Management in relation to the IPO of Rural Funds Group, the $300m merger of Stuart Petroleum with Senex Energy, the sale of Minelab to Codan Limited, the Regis $600m capital restructure and merger with Retirement Care Australia, the $175m takeover defence of Orchard Petroleum Limited and advising the Receivers of CopperCo Limited. 

Prior to joining Gresham, Michail worked with Ferrier Hodgson, gaining significant experience in a broad range of trade sales, strategic business reviews and corporate restructuring assignments. Two notable examples include the IPO of Zinifex and the restructure of Sons of Gwalia. 

Michail holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2001, Michail completed an MBA at Melbourne Business School, which included an exchange to Georgetown University in Washington DC.  In 2007, Michail won the National Dux Prize for the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.  Michail is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association.

Dean Travis

Senior Advisor - Restructuring, Melbourne

Dean joined the Melbourne office of Gresham Partners in 2016.

Dean was most recently Head of Lending Services at ANZ with overall responsibility for the management and value optimisation of all higher risk institutional exposures. Exposures were generally a minimum of AUD100 million to listed and large private entities and included some of Australia's largest debt workouts.

Prior to this Dean spent 10 years as Head of Asset Recovery Management – Asia with Societe Generale, managing distressed exposures in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Dean holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.

Stephen O'Shaughnessy

Executive Director, Sydney

Stephen has more than 15 years’ experience in the corporate finance industry and has worked on a wide range of M&A, equity and debt transactions in Europe, the United States, Asia and Australia.

Stephen’s primary focus is the financial services sector including banking, insurance, wealth management and structured finance.

Recent transactions that Stephen has advised on include: Bank of Queensland’s acquisition of Investec Bank Australia, Resimac’s acquisition of RHG, Thorn Group’s acquisition of Cash Resources Australia, Western Australia Government and Keystart’s divestment of a $1.4bn loan book and Resimac’s acquisition of Homeloans ltd.

Prior to Gresham Stephen worked in M&A advisory at ABN AMRO in London and the Investments and Advisory division at the National Australia Bank.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and has completed the CFA program.
